The agreement between you and You've Been Served when you buy a notice.

You've Been Served sells novelty documents. Each purchase produces a printable notice naming a person of your choosing, listing charges you select, together with a script to read aloud and a response code the recipient can use to answer.
The documents are delivered digitally. Nothing is posted, and we do not deliver anything to the recipient on your behalf — you serve it yourself, in person or by sending them the link.
A notice bought here is a gift. It is not a legal instrument, a court document, a summons, a citation, or a communication from any real authority. The offices named on it do not exist. Nothing on it creates, transfers or extinguishes any right or obligation, and it cannot be relied on for any purpose whatsoever.

These are made to be given to somebody who will find them funny. You agree not to use a notice to harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, stalk or abuse anybody, and not to serve one on a person who has asked you to leave them alone.
You agree not to present a notice as genuine, to alter it so that it appears to come from a real body, or to use it in any legal, employment, tenancy, immigration or official proceeding.
You are responsible for the name you enter and for anything you write in a custom charge or a personal line. Do not enter anything unlawful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or targeting a child.
We may refuse or cancel an order, and may remove a notice and its response page, where we believe it is being used in any of these ways. Where we cancel for this reason we will refund the purchase. If you believe a notice naming you should be taken down, write to hello@youvebeenserved.shop and we will act on it.
You must be 18 or over to buy. Do not name a person under 18 as the recipient of a notice.
Notices start at $14.99 and the price per notice falls as the number in an order rises. The price shown at checkout is the price charged, in US dollars, and includes any discount applied to your basket.
Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Your documents and response codes appear on screen immediately after payment, and are emailed to the address you gave at checkout. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder and then write to us — every purchase can be recovered from its codes.
We aim to keep the site and the response pages available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or withdraw offenses from the catalog at any time. A notice already issued keeps working.
The catalog, the charges, the documents, the designs and the name You've Been Served belong to us. Buying a notice gives you a personal licence to print it, keep it, serve it and share an image of it. It does not let you resell it, mass-produce it, or use our material to make a competing product.
We provide these documents as they are. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for how a notice is received, for any fallout from serving one, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to what you paid for the order concerned.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local law gives you and nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here when you buy, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we are established, and the courts there have jurisdiction, save that a consumer may also bring proceedings in their own country of residence where local law provides for it.
